How to Take Screenshots

Entire Screen:
Press⌘ Command + Shift + 3
.
Saved as "Screenshot [YYYY-MM-DD] at [HH.MM.SS AM/PM].heic" (e.g.,Screenshot 2025-09-15 at 2.30.00 PM.heic
). -
Part of the Screen:
Press⌘ Command + Shift + 4
→ Drag to select an area. -
A Window/Menu:
-
Press
⌘ Command + Shift + 4
→ TapSpacebar
→ Click the window/menu.

Where Screenshots Go
-
Default Location: Desktop.

Naming: Automatically uses the date + time format (no more "Picture 1" names).

Change Location:
Press⌘ Command + Shift + 5
→ Click Options → Pick a folder.
Quick Edits & Sharing
After taking a screenshot:

Click the thumbnail in the corner to crop, draw, or share.

Press
⌘ Command + C
to copy it instantly.
