 Not Connected Error running Entourage connecting to the Purdue Exchange servers.

If you are experiencing difficulty connecting(Not Connected) to the Purdue Exchange servers using Microsoft Office 2008 Entourage, where everything has been working on your system for some time, your software may be out of date with what the current Purdue ITaP Exchange servers are supporting.

Before proceeding make sure ALL Microsoft applications on your system are no longer running.

To ensure your software is up to date you must do the following two things, run the Microsoft update application until there remain no more updates, and two go to the mactopia site(www.mactopia.com), then download, and install the latest version of Entourage Web Services Edition(EWSE)(for some reason this is not considered an update to the Microsoft Office 2008 application set, so it does not get updated as part of the Microsoft update).

Once you have Office, and EWSE updated, rerunning Entourage should restore your connection to the ITaP Exchange servers. Note, you may be required to enter your career account and password to proceed in re-connecting to the Exchange servers. Also there may be a migration that takes place if your previous installation of Office was sufficiently out of date.
