Mathcad Student Agreement Overview

Engineering Computer Network (ECN) and MathSoft Inc. has entered into an agreement for the purchase of 500 copies of the Mathcad 2001i, which has just been upgraded to Mathcad 11 software. The MathSoft agreement licenses the current version of the Mathcad Professional software for use on student owned computers. This agreement allows Purdue University students the opportunity to purchase Mathcad at a nominal cost through the Boiler Copy Maker center (BLCM). Installation and use on institution-owned PCs and/or faculty or other employee PCs are not covered under this Student Option Agreement license. ECN has a separate Mathcad license for University/faculty owned equipment for use within the Schools of Engineering.

How to obtain Mathcad

The Mathcad software can be purchased for $9.35 (plus tax) at the Boiler Copy Maker center (BLCM), which is located in Room #157 of the Purdue Memorial Union Building. Purchasers will be required to present their student ID to show proof of enrollment at Purdue University and sign a license agreement form.

Regulation of Software Use

Students may purchase one (1) copy of the software for use on personally owned or leased computer(s). Once you purchase the software, it may legally be used as long as you are a registered student at Purdue University West Lafayette Campus. If Engineering Computer Network and MathSoft, Inc. renews the agreement each year, then you will have the opportunity to purchase updated versions of the software. Once your student status at Purdue terminates, or if this license agreement is terminated, then the software should be removed from the computers on which it is installed, or else purchase a license. You will receive a copy of the complete license agreement when you purchase the software. You should read it over carefully before signing and purchasing the software. THIS SOFTWARE WILL ONLY WORK ON PC's PURCHASED IN THE UNITED STATES.

Eligibility Requirements to purchase Mathcad

Any student registered on the Purdue University West Lafayette Campus is eligible to purchase the Mathcad Software. However only 500 licenses are available.
