Files in Zope don't open properly
Purpose
Links to file types such as PDF, MSWord, or a movie file may not open in the browser as the user expects. Browsers are often configured to open special files with a plug-in in the browser window, but the mime-type or content-type of the file must be correctly set so the browser can open the correct plug-in. The mime-type or content-type of a file is not always set correctly during the upload process to Zope, and therefore it is necessary to set the mime-type or content-type using the directions below. To set the content-type for a file, click on the file in the ZMI. Change the Content type property to the correct type (a short list of commonly used types is below), and click the Save Changes button. Now, when you click the View tab, or a link to the file from another web page, the browser should open the file as expected. (Note that the browser needs to be properly configured, this document does not describe that topic.)
