Adding a Printer from Pan Print Server

"Pan" is the name of an ECN print server, a network computer used to facilitate the sharing of printers in workgroups and departments.  Here are the steps to use on Windows-based computers to access Pan-based network printers.

1. My Computer.

Open a "My Computer" or "My Documents" window. Internet Explorer also works.

2. The address field.

In the address field, type the following

\\pan.ecn.purdue.edu

Then press the Enter key.

6. Exit and re-launch your programs.

Some programs might not see the newly-added printers until you re-launch them.  Save your work, exit the program, and re-open it.
