Northrop Grumman Future Technical Leaders Information Session
Greetings!
My name is Tim Harris and I have been an Engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation since I graduated from Purdue 10 years ago. This will be my 4th year supporting recruiting at Purdue.
The program that I interview for is called the “Future Technical Leaders” or FTL program. It is a three year rotational program for top MS, PhD and post-docs from a select group of universities who are interested in seeing the range of product lines, business areas, and customer groups a large company like NGC engages. In October, we will invite a few dozen candidates from across the country to an interview event. I would like to make sure that Purdue is well-represented.
We are interested in people whose background is any of the physical sciences, math or engineering disciplines, as FTL program participants are involved in projects throughout the company. In addition to cybersecurity work for several customers, we have projects that would interest students in bioinformatics, many projects in data analytics, and a research group pursuing quantum computing, superconducting circuit design and related technologies in the Baltimore area. Of course, there are our better known business areas, such as satellite sensing systems, high-energy laser systems, UAVs, Army vehicles and Naval network and communications. We are also working two large programs to support the United States’ strategic defense triad, the air based component B-21 Strike, and the missile component Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD). Across this broad landscape of activity, we employ the gamut of science and engineering practices.
Notwithstanding this broad range of directly applicable skills, the FTL program is a strategic hiring program and we hire the intellect, not the specific skill set. We are looking for sharp, inquisitive minds with a deep technical background, particularly those with demonstrated leadership capability, ready to broaden themselves and their perspective.
More information can be found at - www.northropgrumman.com/ftl
I will be hosting two virtual information sessions on Tuesday September 3rd and Thursday September 5th at 7 PM Eastern. The link to sign up for the information session is in the QR code of the attached flyer.
I hope that all interested and qualified candidates can attend, but I invite those who can’t to contact me directly. I would be happy to explain the program and answer questions individually. I will be setting up interview sessions over the next two weeks and more information will follow with sign up information.
I look forward to speaking to you soon and Boiler Up!
