Vilas Pol, Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering, received funding from the Trask Innovation Fund for his project "Low Cost, High Capacity, Faster Charging Carbon Anodes for Sodium-Ion Batteries."

The research utilizes packing peanuts to create amorphous thin carbon sheet anodes for faster charging in high performance sodium ion batteries.

The Purdue Research Foundation-managed Trask Innovation Fund is a development program to assist faculty and staff at all campuses, colleges, schools and departments whose discoveries are being commercialized through the Purdue Research Foundation Office of Technology Commercialization
