Chemical Engineering faculty recognized by Purdue Research Foundation

Four faculty members from the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering were recently recognized by the Purdue Research Foundation (PRF) for their significant contributions. Dr. Rakesh Agrawal, Dr. Byron Pipes, Dr. Arvind Varma, and Dr. You-Yeon Won had noteworthy innovations and inventions during the 2015-2016 fiscal year. During this period, PRF reported a record number of patents, startups, and inventions. Purdue discoveries are used in more than 100 countries, and benefit millions of people around the world.

Professor Caruthers receives 2017 College of Engineering Faculty Award of Excellence

Dr. James M. Caruthers, the Gerald and Sarah Skidmore Professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University, will receive the 2017 College of Engineering Faculty Award of Excellence for Engagement/Service. The award will be presented at the 15th Annual Engineering Faculty Awards of Excellence Banquet at the Ross-Ade Pavilion Shively Club on April 7.

Professor Pol Receives U.S. Navy Funding for Research Projects Focused on Power and Energy

Professor Pol, Associate Professor, is part of one of the six interdisciplinary research teams at Purdue University that have received $2.7 million in grants through a partnership with the U.S. Navy. The U.S. Navy Enterprise Partnership Teaming with Universities for National Excellence was launched by Purdue and the Navy in 2014 to help the military branch reach its goal to convert half of its energy consumption to alternative sources, including biofuels, by 2020.
