Norman L. Gilsdorf Receives the 2010 Distinguished Alumnus Award

Norman L. Gilsdorf, BS 1977, was honored by the College of Engineering with its 2010 Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award

On February 19, 2010, Norm Gilsdorf was honored by the College of Engineering with its 2010 Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award. At the same time, he was recognized by the School of Chemical Engineering with the 2010 Outstanding Chemical Engineering Alumnus Award.

Norman Gilsdorf received his BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue in 1977. He later received an MBA degree from Northwestern University in 1989.
 
Mr. Gilsdorf was appointed President of Honeywell Process Solutions in January, 2009.  Previously, he was Vice President/General Manager of the Honeywell Process Solutions business for Europe, Middle East and Africa.  Before that he held multiple positions of progressing responsibility with UOP, which he joined in 1977 immediately after graduating from Purdue.
 
Mr. Gilsdorf has been a member the Chemical Engineering Industrial Advisory Council (IAC) since 2005, when he was responsible for UOP joining the IAC.  He is also a member of the Purdue Alumni Association.
