Nien-Hwa Linda Wang, Professor of Chemical Engineering, has won the 2008 Violet Haas Award.  The Violet Haas Award "recognizes individuals, programs or departments at Purdue that have effectively facilitated the advancement of women in hiring, promotion, education and salary, or have generally enhanced a positive professional climate for women at the university."  Linda is a founding member of the Women Faculty in Engineering Committee and chairs the interview committee for department head, dean and high level adminstrator candidates.
