In January, the school was pleased to welcome Dr. Julie C. Liu.

Dr. Liu received her Ph.D from the California Institute of Technology in 2006. Dr. Liu was the recipient of a 2007 National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellowship and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Professor Liu's research interest is in engineering biomimetic materials that direct specific cellular responses. Her main focus is designing artificial proteins to direct bone and cartilage regeneration.
