The DAACI (Design, Application, Analysis, and Control of Interfaces) site provides research opportunities to undergraduates with an interest in engineered interfaces and interfacial processes. Applications are now being accepted for summer 2008.

Metallic nanoclusters, nanoparticle synthesis, nanoporous and nanostructured materials, molecular electronics, thermoelectric and solar devices, fuel cells, nanoscale biosensers.

Theory and modeling of colloidal systems and interfacial phenomena, molecular modeling of nanoscale systems, and computational catalysis, surface science.

Recovery of biochemicals, protein adsorption, adsorption and ion exchange in fixed beds and fluidized beds, complex ion exchange systems, novel fixed-bed processes.

Surfactant equilibrium and dynamic adsorption, design of oriented ultrathin films, droplet break-up and coalescence, computational fluid dynamics, gas-solid flows.
