1984 AAE Distinguished Engineering Alumnus

Richard E. "Jeff" Kasler

Chairman of the Board
Kasler Corporation
BSAE ’46

Mr. Kasler assumed the position of president in 1961, and since that time his company has been awarded projects totaling over $900 million, including bridges, highways, freeways, and water control and distribution, as well as military and defense construction. The corporation is one of the leaders in concrete paving technology, using on-site central mixing plants and electronically controlled slipform paving equipment. Kasler Corporation was the first contracting firm to successfully slipform four layers of freeway in a single pass; and in 1973 they set a world record for paving 3.37 miles of a two-lane highway in a single day. Several equipment design, modifications, and paving methods first used by Kasler are now considered industry standards.
