David McGrath has worked primarily at the Elkton MD site of Northrop Grumman since graduating in 1984. He has worked as an analyst, project engineer, preliminary designer, chief engineer, program manager, researcher, technical director, and now Senior NG Fellow in solid rocket propulsion, missile, and space systems.
McGrath is an AIAA Fellow and is currently a Deputy Director of the Propulsion and Energy Group within AIAA. He is the author or co-author on over 50 papers in the AIAA and JANNAF literature on topics as basic as combustion and plume phenomena of solid rockets to system and flight discussions of recent programs such as the Orion ACM, Mars Ascent, and Europa Lander missions.
