Meet Chris Rubak, member of the EEE EAC
In 2012, the External Advisory Council was established to work closely with the EEE Head and advise on all aspects of the program and strategic growth as EEE launched new programs. The EAC includes members from environmental consulting firms, major industry, government, and academia.
Chris Rubak received a B.S. in General Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.
Rubak started his professional career in 1984 with Dames & Moore, a geo-environmental consulting firm in Bethesda, Maryland. Then, in 1987 he joined Waste Management, Inc. and has held various technical positions within the company. He currently oversees the engineering, permitting and compliance activities for various facilities and operations, including solid waste landfills, transfer stations, recycling facilities and other waste operations. He is a registered professional engineer in Illinois, Missouri, and Kansas.
Reflecting on what being on the EEE EAC means to him, Rubak mentioned, “It allows me to give back to Purdue and also share career development experiences with students.”
