Editing an HTML Document

First, login to your site and browse to the document you would like to edit. Standard web pages are created as "HTML Document" objects within your website. These documents are designated by a document icon with a small red H in the corner. Other types of documents likely use dynamic scripts or advanced coding to generate their content. If you need to edit a page which is not in the HTML Document format and you are not comfortable doing so, contact ECN.

Once you've located the HTML Document you would like to edit, click on it in the folder listing to load the editing interface.

The editing interface is similar to Microsoft Word. Generally, you should use the simplest formatting possible. More complex formatting can make it difficult to reuse and maintain the content in the future.

  1. Select the text you would like to link
  2. Click the link icon (a small globe with a chain link)
  3. Enter the URL to the page you would like to link to

Adding Images

  2. Click the "Upload" tab of the Image Properties dialog
  3. Use the "Browse" or "Choose File" button to select the image from your computer
  4. Click "Send it to the Server"
  5. Click "Ok" to close out the confirmation dialogs
  6. Modify the image settings to add alternate text and set the desired alignment
  7. Click "Ok" to close the dialog window

You can adjust the image properties at anytime by right clicking on an image and selecting "Image Properties" from the contextual menu.

Saving your changes

After making any changes to an HTML Document you must click Save Changes at the bottom of the screen for your changes to take effect.
