Introduction to Maintaining an Engineering Website

This tutorial cover the basics of maintaining the school and department websites within hosted on the College of Engineering Zope cluster.

All of the schools and most of the major programs and units use this structure for their official website.

  1. Getting Started

    This video covers logging in and navigating within the administrative interface.

  2. Editing existing web pages

    This video covers editing an existing, static web page. Examples of a static web pages include the summary of your academic programs, contact information, and departmental history.

  3. Adding a new web page

    Covers adding a new static web page and linking that page into the left sidebar of the site. A small amount of HTML coding is required.

  4. Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, and Rename objects

    Brief overview of the process to copy, paste, move, delete and rename the pages and folders within your website.

  5. Adding News and Events

    Covers finding your news folder (Purdue Event Manager) and creating a new News or Spotlight item.

  6. Editing Faculty and Staff lists

    Introduction to adding and updating your Faculty and Staff directories using the Engineering Resource Database.
