Art in Engineering

Terminal Rooms

Many hours of a student's college career are spent in terminal rooms in the various engineering buildings. Art posters have been hung in many of these rooms changing them from drab institutional environments to more inviting human habitats.

Hallways

Young man admiring artwork in the hallway. Sometimes the hallways of the engineering buildings are filled with mini-hordes of students and other times a lone person's footsteps can be heard. Hallways are not only corridors of transport, but at Purdue they also add to the educational environment.

Bulletin boards with information about upcoming conferences, information about other engineering schools, glossy magazine offers, listing of apartments needing a roommate and a few personal notices can be perused. Also along various hallways are art posters. Some of these posters are permanently installed while others change once a year. An effort is made to present a variety of artistic styles, these are some of the permanent pieces.
