Muhammad Shaaban is a sophomore undergraduate student who has been playing the qanun for a little over a year. He was born and raised in northwest Indiana, but his family is from Egypt. He believes that all music has a special power, but Arab music in particular has an aspirational quality to him.
With encouragement from the College of Engineering, the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering hosts the ECE Sound Sessions to highlight and celebrate the musical talents of our students, staff, and faculty. The performances will all take place in the MSEE Atrium and will last approximately 5-10 minutes each.
