Dr. Mingxi Fan is currently Senior General Manager of Wireless Communication Technology and System Design at MediaTek, Inc., leading worldwide commercial wireless system, ASIC and firmware development, advanced research and standardization across cellular and connectivity, and strategic products. Previously, he was the head of strategy at XCOM Labs Inc., driving innovation and ecosystem partnership in wireless edge computing.
Before that, he was VP of Engineering at Qualcomm, where he drove key technology initiatives across 3G/4G/5G research, standards, and commercial product development. Mingxi holds over 200 granted patents and received top innovation and contributor awards in multiple companies.
He received his Bachelor, Master and Ph.D degrees in Electrical Engineering in 1999 and 2022, respectively, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, where he also received the MIT Ernst A. Guillemin EE Master's thesis award in June 1999.
