Undergraduate Awards
Undergraduate TA Awards
ECE has about 200 undergraduates who help out in classes as teaching assistants. They hold office hours, help design and grade assignments, and generally keep our classes running smoothly. This year, we are presenting 6 students with UTA awards in recognition of their extraordinary efforts.
Minjun (Jess) Zhang: For her efforts as lead UTA in ECE 20875, as well as several online courses, including designing assignments and assessments.
Brooklynn Cox: For her efforts above and beyond the call of duty in helping students in ECE 40400, including helping develop and debug course infrastructure, and holding office hours on evenings and weekends to ensure students received sufficient help.
Kevin Bautista: For his efforts in designing new labs and instructional material for ECE 20007.
Joseph Bushagour: For his efforts as head UTA of ECE 20007, including stepping in to fill graduate TA duties.
Xinji (Jimmy) Jiang: For his efforts in designing quizzes and projects for ECE 47300, as well as developing course infrastructure.
Jonathan Eppele: For going above and beyond as UTA in ECE 36900, taking on the duties of a graduate TA, and holding extra office hours to ensure students received help.

Undergraduate Research Awards
Purdue ECE runs the largest research program of any School at Purdue, and undergraduates play key roles in our research agenda. These students design and run experiments, write papers, present results, and support our top 10-nationwide program. These awards recognize the top undergraduate researchers, as measured by drive and accomplishment.
David Nickel: For his work on federated learning on heterogeneous edge systems.
Efe Barlas: For his work on studying security issues in the use of regular expressions, and identifying servurity vulnerabilities at major companies.
Honorable Mention: Landon Carre, Hunter Haglid, Hal Owens, Jagan Krishnasamy, Eshaan Minocha, and Nathaniel Nauman
Undergraduate Service Award
Through organizations such as the ECE Student Society and HKN, Purdue undergraduates provide camaraderie, advice, tutoring, mentoring, and coffee and donuts to the ECE community. This award recognizes students who have performed extraordinary service to the School over the year.
Sara Hui: For her years of service to ECE, including in ECE Student Ambassadors, hosting the ECESS podcast, and serving as a student member on the ECE Undergraduate Committee.
