Vladimir M. Shalaev, the Bob and Anne Burnett Distinguished Professor in Purdue University’s Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE)—one of the highest professional honors an engineer can receive.

Pioneering quantum spin liquids earn Purdue researchers prestigious Keck Foundation Grant

Physicist and Principal Investigator Prof. Arnab Banerjee with the Purdue University Department of Physics and Astronomy, along with Co-Principal Investigators from the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Prof. Vladimir M. Shalaev, Prof. Pramey Upadhyaya and Prof. Alexandra Boltasseva, received a $1.2 million W.M. Keck Foundation grant to study quantum spin liquids.

Spark Challenge showcases innovation and collaboration of ECE students

The biannual Spark Challenge is designed to inspire electrical and computer engineering students to think outside the box while applying their classroom knowledge to real-world problems. The Fall 2024 challenge featured projects that ranged from smart home technologies and sustainable energy solutions to applications in AI and robotics.
