John is CEO and chair of Catalent, a global provider of drug delivery technology and development solutions for drugs, biologics, and consumer health products. The company recently announced plans for a new CEO starting July 1, 2022. John will remain in his present role until then, when he will assume the position of executive chair of the board.

John joined Catalent after more than 20 years of service in engineering, operations, and senior leadership roles at GE Healthcare. From 2007 to 2009, John held the position of president and CEO of GE Medical Diagnostics. From 2005 to 2007, he served as vice president and general manager of GE Healthcare's Global Magnetic Resonance Business, and from 2001 to 2005, he held the position of vice president and general manager of Global Healthcare Services. Earlier at GE, he held a series of cross-functional leadership positions in both manufacturing and engineering, including a GE Medical Systems assignment in France.

In addition to his Purdue degree, John earned a BS in electrical engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. John has served as a director of Berkeley Lights Inc. since May 2021. At Purdue, he serves on the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering Advisory Council, holding the position of chair since 2016.

Previously, he served as a trustee for the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey and as a director at DJO Global. John has received both the Distinguished Engineering Alumni award and the Outstanding Electrical Engineer award from Purdue. John and his wife, Laura, have three children: Genevieve, Christopher (BS Electrical and Computer Engineering 2020), and Claudine.
