AAE alumnus William Gerstenmaier elected to NAE

William Gerstenmaier, NASA’s Associate Administrator for Human Exploration and Operations, was just elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE).

William Gerstenmaier, NASA’s Associate Administrator for Human Exploration and Operations, was just elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE).

Gerstenmaier was recognized for his distinguished technical contributions in human spaceflight and for his leadership of national and international human-spaceflight programs.

He has a B.S. degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue and serves on the University’s Steering Advisory Council. Purdue is extremely proud of Gerstenmaier’s significant contributions and impact on human spaceflight.
