Professor Heister will recount some of the research performed during a 25 year career at Purdue. The talk will focus on aerospace propulsion applications with a few notable exceptions in automotive and diesel engine fields.

Professor Heister has appointments in ME and AAE departments in the College of Engineering and is the Director of the Maurice Zucrow Laboratory. His undergraduate education was in aerospace engineering at the University of Michigan and his Ph.D. was obtained from UCLA in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering. He accumulated nearly a decade of industrial experience at Lockheed California Company and The Aerospace Corporation before joining Purdue in 1990. Professor Heister teaches courses in aerospace propulsion including airbreathing, rocket and hypersonic propulsion and has also conducted research in these areas during his time at Purdue.
