Preparation

Fellows participate in professional programming that complements their postdoctoral work and prepares them to take on leadership roles in energy across academia, industry, government, and nonprofit.

A new cohort of up to 10 fellows is selected each year, adding to a diverse community of scholars from across disciplines, perspectives, nationalities, and identities. Fellows learn and grow together, developing lifelong friendships along the way.

Fellowship terms
|

|
Fellows are supported for up to three years with an annual salary of $85,000 with annual increases, $8,000 per year in supplemental funds to support research and professional development, up to $2,000 in reimbursable relocation allowances, as well as benefits, including health care coverage.

We seek the brightest emerging scientists who are interested in tackling the global energy problem through interdisciplinary approaches. Our fellows come from around the world, bring a diversity of experiences, identities, and perspectives, and share a desire to have an impact on the global energy transformation.

Fellows are selected on the basis of their academic achievement and the promise of their scientific research. Applications from all disciplines of energy are accepted, from renewable energy, carbon management, and sustainable manufacturing to law, business, and environmental impacts.

Key to the Stanford Energy Postdoctoral Fellowship experience is the community of fellows. The fellowship is committed to building a community with a broad range of experiences, interests, and perspectives. Applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds are encouraged.
