One of the DHCP servers that services PAL was down. We believe that this outage will affect all of PAL.

Engineers from IT Telecommunications and IT Security & Policy are working on the problem.

UPDATE

PAL should be working again. There were two problems, one of which was with this server itself, which was not the service affecting outage.

The second problem was that all of the network addresses in the DHCP pools used by the Cisco 3030 VPN concentrators were exhausted. In debugging this problem, it became necessary to reset all DHCP leases on PAL to clean up several leases that were suspected to be bogus. We regret any inconvenience that this might have caused.

We are taking steps to increase the available address space to ensure that this problem does not recur.
