Upgrade to ANSYS Version 11.0

Author: B Kozlowski
All installations of ANSYS need to be upgraded to ANSYS Version 11.0 before September 27, 2007. This is necessary because, when we update the ANSYS license server with the 2007-2008 license renewal file (scheduled to happen on September 27), older versions of ANSYS will no longer be able to get a license.

If you use a machine supported by the Engineering Computer Network, the upgrade to ANSYS Version 11.0 will be handled for you. The ECN Solaris 10 and Linux RHE4 machines have already been upgraded and we are in the process of upgrading the Windows machines.

If your machine is not supported by ECN and you currently have ANSYS installed, you should report to your ECN site person that you need to upgrade to ANSYS Version 11.0. Let your ECN site person know by emailing to the appropriate site or by using the trouble report form.

If you have ANSYS installed and are in doubt about which version you have, just start ANSYS in your usual way and look for the version number in the title of the ANSYS window or at the top of the "ANSYS Legal Notices". If you have any questions about ANSYS, check with your ECN site person.
