Markell worked as a lead hardware engineer at Tesla for 6 years. During Model X development, he led seat sensor integration and supported production bring-up. For Model 3, he presented his concept to Elon for an in-house sensor design to improve occupant performance. Upon approval, he built a sensing team to support his patented design. After Tesla, he took time off before joining the venture capital firm, Drive Capital. At Drive, he is an investor focusing on market defining tech startups in energy, consumer AI, and more.
