Two Davidson School of Chemical Engineering undergraduate students will receive national-level American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) awards. Rohan Dighe and Claire O’Connor are set to be recognized for scholastic achievement and freshman recognition at the 2018 AIChE Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in October.

Two Purdue University graduate students from the research group of Chemical Engineering Professor Rakesh Agrawal have been selected to present talks at the 2018 Materials Research Society Fall Meeting.

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Student Chapters Committee has named Purdue AIChE as one of the recipients of the 2017-2018 Outstanding Student Chapter award. This is the third consecutive year that the student organization has been recognized with this award. Purdue AIChE student leaders will be honored at the AIChE Annual Student Conference awards ceremony on October 28, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Shelly Peyton, Associate Professor and Barry & Afsaneh Siadat Career Development Faculty Fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering at University of Massachusetts Amherst, will present the 2018 Mellichamp Lecture. Hosted by the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering, Dr. Peyton will present a lecture, Tissue Inspired Hydrogel Design, on Tuesday, October 16 at 3:00 pm in Forney Hall of Chemical Engineering room G140. The event is free and open to the public.

More than 230 million invasive surgeries are performed worldwide each year, and nearly all of those procedures create additional tissue damage from stitches and staples. Professor Julie Liu is leading a team of researchers at Purdue University hoping to significantly decrease that damage with a new surgical adhesive technology.
