Ramkrishna receives prestigious William H. Walker award

Doraiswami Ramkrishna, the Harry Creighton Peffer Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering, is the 2021 recipient of the William H. Walker Award for Excellence in Contributions to Chemical Engineering Literature.

Doraiswami Ramkrishna, the Harry Creighton Peffer Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering, is the 2021 recipient of the William H. Walker Award for Excellence in Contributions to Chemical Engineering Literature.

Ramkrishna is noted for his research on the application of mathematics to chemical and biochemical reaction engineering, biotechnology, particulate systems, stochastic modeling and personalized medicine. Author of about 300 publications, Ramkrishna has published three books.

He will receive the award at the Honors Ceremony of the AIChE Annual Meeting in Boston Nov. 7-11, 2021.

Dr. Ramkrishna received the Alpha Chi Sigma Award in Chemical Engineering (1987), the R.H. Wilhelm Award in Chemical Reaction Engineering (1998), and the Thomas Baron Award in Fluid-Particle Systems (2004) – all from AIChE. He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering (elected in 2009) and a foreign member of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (since 2011).
