Transportation Engineering Assistant Yarger Engineering, Inc. has an opening for the summer of 2024 for a transportation engineering assistant in Indianapolis. The position is an undergraduate internship opportunity for hands-on entry level experience for the future civil engineer. The engineering assistant is expected to learn as much as they produce. The work would primarily be preparing traffic impact studies and designing roads. Traffic impact studies are comprised of data collection, traffic forecasts, analysis, alternative solutions development, report writing and creating report figures. Road plans consist primarily of typical sections, alignments, profiles and cross sections, along with detail sheets for signals, signs, markings and miscellaneous items. There may be field work setting out traffic counting equipment, collecting on-site traffic counts and taking field measurements.
