Maeve Hegarty receives WTS Indianapolis Sharon D. Banks Memorial Scholarship

CCE undergrad Maeve Hegarty has been selected by the Indianapolis Chapter of the Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) as the recipient of the Sharon D. Banks Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded annually to inspire and support women who aspire to pursue a career path in transportation.
Maeve Hegarty is a senior at Purdue University studying Civil Engineering with a concentration in Transportation and Infrastructure Systems. After graduation this May, Maeve will be working for HNTB in Philadelphia in their Traffic and Intelligent Transportation Systems Group. She previously interned with the HNTB Traffic group in Indianapolis, using MicroStation and Synchro to complete traffic design plans and perform capacity and safety analyses. Through her civil engineering courses, Maeve has gained an affinity for developing traffic simulation models, using software such as VISSIM and SUMO.
Maeve is a member of the Purdue Student Engineering Foundation (PSEF), providing prospective students and their families with tours of the engineering facilities on campus. She is also involved with the College of Engineering Ambassadors, the CCE Recruitment Committee, and the Purdue Performance Collaborative (PPC). In her time at Purdue, Maeve traveled to Australia for the Transportation Systems and Supply Chains Maymester and briefly worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for the Sustainable Transportation Systems Research Group (STSRG). Maeve performs in PPC musicals on campus in her free time, and she enjoys all forms of music and crafting.
