Kalaya Sriver receives WTS Indianapolis Sharon D. Banks Memorial Scholarship

CCE undergrad Kalaya Sriver has been selected by the Indianapolis Chapter of the Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) as the recipient of the Sharon D. Banks Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded annually to inspire and support women who aspire to pursue a career path in transportation.
Kalaya Sriver is a junior at Purdue University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Transportation Engineering with minors in Global Engineering Studies and Spanish for the Professions. Currently she is working in Chicago as a transportation engineer at Jacobs, completing her third co-op rotation. At Jacobs, her project focus is on urban roadway infrastructure improvements for pedestrian and cyclist safety and mobility. In Chicago she volunteers with the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) Mentors Program, guiding high school students in mock design projects around Chicago.
At Purdue she is involved in the Global Engineering Alliance for Research and Education (GEARE) program, through which she will continue her civil engineering studies for a semester in Quito, Ecuador and participate in a work term in Spain. She was also the communications director for the Institute of Transportation Engineers' Purdue University student chapter. Away from school and work, Kalaya enjoys painting, climbing, knitting, taking photographs, and backpacking.
