Dan DeLaurentis chosen as AIAA fellow
Prof. Dan DeLaurentis has been chosen as one of the 28-member Class of 2023 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Fellows. AIAA selects fellows based on their contributions to the arts, sciences or technology of aeronautics and astronautics. Since it began, AIAA has elected just over 2,000 fellows.
"The number of AIAA Fellows is related to the size of the membership, so this is an incredibly high honor from one of our primary professional societies," says William Crossley, the Uhrig & Vournas Head of Aeronautics and Astronautics. "This not only reflects on Dan’s notable and valuable contributions to aerospace, it also reflects well on the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics to have another AIAA Fellow amongst our faculty."
AIAA will celebrate the new fellows during the AIAA Awards Gala in Washington, D.C. on May 18.
“The Class of 2023 AIAA Honorary Fellows and Fellows are among the best minds in the aerospace profession,” said Laura McGill, AIAA President. “These distinguished individuals have earned the respect and gratitude of our broad science and engineering community."
