AAE alumni Matt Borg and Ben Linder were part of the Class of 2020 Associate Fellows by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Borg (PHD AAE ’09) and Linder (BSAAE ’94, OAE ’16) will be formally inducted at the Associate Fellows Induction Ceremony on Jan. 6 at the AIAA SciTech Forum in Orlando, Fla. They’ll be joined by two AAE professors who also were selected.

“Aerospace is constantly evolving to solve problems and push the boundaries of the possible,” AIAA president John Langford said in a press release. “The newest class of Associate Fellows is building on the great work that has come before them to push us faster and farther here on Earth as well as in space.”

To be selected, an individual must be an AIAA Senior Member in good standing with at least 12 years of professional experience and be recommended by a minimum of three current Associate Fellows.

Each year, only one of every 150 voting members are selected and approved. The AIAA is the world’s largest aerospace technical society and is comprised of nearly 30,000 engineers and scientists.
