Blaisdell to be added to Book of Great Teachers
Greg Blaisdell, a professor in AAE, is one of 45 distinguished faculty who will be added to Purdue’s Book of Great Teachers.
Blaisdell, who has been a professor at Purdue since 1991, will be honored at an induction ceremony Dec. 11 in the South Ballroom of the Purdue Memorial Union. He is one of the country’s experts in the study of turbulent fluid flows using computational fluid dynamics.
“It is an honor to be included in the list of great teachers at Purdue,” Blaisdell says. “I find it very encouraging.”
The Book of Great Teachers was dedicated in 1999 and currently holds names of 384 faculty with 45 names to be added in December. Other AAE professors on the list include: Elmer Bruhn, Steven Collicott, William Crossley, W.A. Gustafson, Stephen Heister, Kathleen Howell, Severino Koh, James Longuski, C.T. Sun and Henry Yang.
Inductees are selected once every five years. Everyone inducted into the Book of Great Teachers is listed on a bronze-and-walnut wall display in the west foyer of the Union.
"The Book of Great Teachers honors the very best of our Purdue educators and underscores our commitment to teaching excellence," Provost Jay Akridge says. "We are grateful to the faculty members inducted this year and in years past for their devotion to our students, and we thank them on behalf of the countless lives they have influenced through their wisdom and guidance."
