School of AAE grad students present research at 2015 HAI Heli-Expo

School of Aeronautics and Astronautics graduate students Arjun Rao and Sanghyun Shin represented the Purdue PEGASAS Rotorcraft ASIAS team at the 2015 HAI Heli-Expo, the world's largest trade show dedicated to the international helicopter community.

School of Aeronautics and Astronautics graduate students Arjun Rao and Sanghyun Shin represented the Purdue PEGASAS Rotorcraft ASIAS team at the 2015 HAI Heli-Expo, the world's largest trade show dedicated to the international helicopter community. The Heli-Expo was held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, from March 1 to 5, 2015.

Arjun Rao (advised by Prof. Karen Marais) and Sanghyun Shin (advised by Prof. Inseok Hwang) presented their research posters on methods to improve helicopter safety, and gained valuable insight from their interactions with helicopter manufacturers and safety organizations. This research is part of the PEGASAS Center of Excellence, directed by Prof. William Crossley and sponsored by the FAA. The FAA technical monitor is Cliff Johnson. The university partners are Georgia Tech and Florida Institute of Technology.
