Dr. Alina Alexeenko, Dr. Inseok Hwang and Dr. Vikas Tomar have been promoted to full professors, as approved by the Purdue University Board of Trustees at a meeting April 8. The promotions are effective Aug. 15, 2016

AAE Assistant Professor Michael Sangid has received the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society's Early Career Faculty Fellow Award.

A Purdue University research team has developed a simulation technique as part of a project to help reduce the cost of carbon nanostructures for research and potential commercial technologies, including advanced sensors and batteries.

AAE Associate Professor Vikas Tomar has been named a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). The fellow grade is the highest elected level of membership in ASME.

Six AAE student organizations participated in STEM Night on March 10, 2016 at Edgelea Elementary School in Lafayette, IN. The event gave the grade schoolers the chance to learn about these areas of study while having fun.

AAE Professor Daniel DeLaurentis is the recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award by graduate students in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

AAE Assistant Professor Carson Slabaugh has been chosen by the U.S. Department of Defense to receive a research instrumentation award for the purchase of a high-speed imaging system.

AAE Assistant Professor Michael Sangid has had an article published in the March 2016 issue of the magazine “Aerospace America,” the monthly magazine of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
