Alpha Chapter: Founded 1953

Congratulations! On behalf of Sigma Gamma Tau, the National Aerospace Engineering Honors Society, I would like to invite you to become a part of the Alpha Chapter at Purdue University. This invitation is only extended to the top 20% of sophomores, 25% of juniors, 33% of seniors, and those who have chosen to continue their studies in graduate school. This invitation allows you to join an elite group of Purdue students and alumni, including Neil Armstrong, Gus Grissom, Eugene Cernan, and Roger Chaffee.

SGT strives to provide a means for students to take responsibility for their surroundings while building a network of friends and colleagues that will last a lifetime. By joining SGT, you will be given the opportunity to make a difference in your own life as well as the lives of your friends, department, and community. SGT members also participate in numerous social, community outreach, fundraising, and industrial relations events throughout the semester, growing a meaningful connection to AAE students and faculty. 

As a member of SGT, you will be able to attend talks by Purdue professors and industry professionals from companies such as Boeing or Northrop Grumman. You will be afforded opportunities to expand your network and connect with the local community through volunteering events. You will get to meet your AAE peers and participate in social events such as game nights, biweekly dinners, and paintball.
