Step 1: Meet with Your Faculty Mentor

Faculty Mentors are listed on the right side of BoilerConnect under your picture, where it says "Your Success Team." Make sure you check this each semester as some mentor assignments change occasionally!
-
-
Request a meeeting with your Faculty Mentor
-
Find faculty contact information on the SEE Faculty page.
-
When corresponding be professional and courteous. Introduce yourself and the purpose of the meeting. Propose several dates and times across multiple weeks. Plan well in advance to deadlines since last-minute requests are rarely successful. Meetings may be virtual or in person.
-
-
Complete and submit your Mentor Form BEFORE your meeting
-
Make sure to select the form that corresponds to your Hydrology curriculum decision that you made last spring during the opt-in phase - either staying with your entrance date to Purdue curriculum, or the new Fall 2026 link.
-
The mentor form will guide you in identifying EEE Selectives, Technical Selectives, and course choices that support your career interests.

-
At conclusion of meeting, request that your Mentor immediately ‘reply all’ to that original email to document your meeting and to note any recommendations, reminders or questions to you or your advisor.
Step 2: Meet with Your Primary Academic Advisor
After the Mentor meeting you will receive a BoilerConnect email from your primary advisor with instructions and link to schedule your registration appointment.
- DO NOT schedule an appointment with your advisor until you receive the BoilerConnect email invitation (should be approximately 3 days after your Faculty Mentor meeting).
- Failure to fully prepare for your meeting may result in your Registration appointment being rescheduled.
