Abhi Deshmukh, James J. Solberg Head and Professor of the Purdue School of Industrial Engineering, welcomed the 2016 award recipients, faculty, staff, advisory council members, family and friends. The dinner ceremony took place in the J. Nine Club in Mackey Arena. Awardees included:

Ms. Amy M. Adams (BSIE 1988), Vice President and General Manager, Cummins Emission Solutions 

Mr. Ghassan E. Nuqul (BSIE 1983), Chairman of Fine Hygienic Holding, Jordan 

Mr. Richard A. Penington (BSIE 1985, MSIE 1986), Co-founder, President & CEO of Apexon Corporation

Dr. Kathryn E. Stecke (MSIE 1977, PhD 1981), Ashbel Smith Professor of Operations Management, School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas

Ms. Cynthia M. Weldon (BSIE 1980), President of The Weldon Foundation, Operations Manager of IBM's Institute for Business Value

Dr. Byoung K. Choi (PhD 1982), CEO of HANMAUM Education Corps, South Korea, and Emeritus Professor of Industrial Engineering, was named as a 2016 OIE but was unable to attend the event.
