Hometown: Ann Arbor, MI
Why I came to Purdue:
My mentor during undergrad is a Purdue alumnus, and he was always talking about how life at Purdue has influenced him a lot that made me interested in Purdue. But of course, Purdue’s world-renowned IE program and the opportunities it offers is the main reason I came here.
A brief description of research/other duties in the school:
My current research focuses on collateralized debt obligations (CDOs). Building a model using artificial neural network methods to predict the CDO Index and to figure out what really affects the market. I am now serving as the co-social chair for IE GSO, organizing social events and activities for IE graduate students.
What I envisage for my future after Purdue:
After graduation, I plan on finding a job related to my current research. But I am also open to other options in the future, such as pursuing a PhD.
Which organizations are you involved with on-campus and why:
IE GSO: By attending seminars and socials organized by IE GSO, I was able to quickly adapt to the new environment when I first came to Purdue. Therefore, I wanted to become part of the team that helps IE grads enjoy their life more at Purdue.
Women in Engineering Graduate Mentoring Program: I joined because it gives me the opportunity to meet people outside the department and relax after a day of work.
INFORMS: Gives me the opportunity to learn about what’s going on in the field.
