Update From Student Government Senator Jordan Ross

Dear College of Engineering Students,

My name is Jordan Ross and I am a junior in Industrial Engineering from San Rafael, California.

This semester I have had the great opportunity of representing all of you in the Purdue Student Government Senate. While I am sure all of you have a lot of studying and preparation for final exams and projects, I wanted to communicate with you all on what I have accomplished for you as your senator.

This semester I have written legislation to the university to bring forward:

·      Open access to teaching evaluations, grade distributions, and past syllabi

·      Prioritizing student innovators in the job selection process for university projects

·      Including Sex Reassignment Surgery in the Purdue University Student Health Insurance list of benefits

·      A Citybus “reverse” loop and increase of citybus tower acres loop

·      Rescheduling policy for students with conflicting evening exams to prevent penalty

·      Protection of the historical land on the streets Russell, Waldron, and University

·      Funding for Research Roundtable, Timmy Global Health, Boiler Model United Nations, and the American Association of University Women’s Sarah Kay event

·      Bringing University attention to all Religious, Civic, and Ethnic Observances

I thank your for voting for me last April, and for continually reaching out to me on issues that you have experienced as a Boilermaker. As the chair of the Student and Academic Affairs committee, I have had the chance to support and aid in the creation of many more pieces of legislation as well as contribute on University Educational Policy.

If you would like to meet or communicate with me on anything, feel free to email me at jordanross@purdue.edu, or stop by the Purdue Student Government office in Krach 270.

Good luck on finals and have a great winter break!

Jordan Ross
