ChE alumnus Christopher N. Bowman (BSChE '88, PhD '91) elected to National Academy of Engineering

Dr. Christopher N. Bowman (BSChE '88, PhD '91) has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering, among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer, for development of photopolymerization reactions for adaptable polymer networks and their innovative applications.

Dr. Christopher N. Bowman (BSChE '88, PhD '91) has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering, among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer, for development of photopolymerization reactions for adaptable polymer networks and their innovative applications. Individuals in the newly elected class of 106 new members and 23 international members will be formally inducted during the NAE's annual meeting on October 3, 2021.

Election to the National Academy of Engineering is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer. Academy membership honors those who have made outstanding contributions to "engineering research, practice, or education, including, where appropriate, significant contributions to the engineering literature" and to "the pioneering of new and developing fields of technology, making major advancements in traditional fields of engineering, or developing/implementing innovative approaches to engineering education."

Professor Christopher N. Bowman is a Distinguished Professor and the James and Catherine Patten Chair of Chemical and Biological Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at University of Colorado - Boulder. Dr. Bowman is also a Clinical Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Co-Director of the NSF I/UCRC for Fundamentals and Applications and Photopolymerizations. He received the 2016 Outstanding Chemical Engineer Award.
