Danni Gao Participates in the NRG Battle

Graduate Student Danni Gao participated in the NRG Battle World Edition competition sponsored by Shell. Danni was selected to become part of the Gasunie DNV KEMA team, a company from Netherlands.

Graduate Student Danni Gao participated in the NRG Battle World Edition competition sponsored by Shell. Danni was selected to become part of the Gasunie DNV KEMA team, a company from Netherlands.

The competition took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from June 4 to June 8, 2012. Her team worked on a “power-to-gas” case, which is an integration of technologies to convert power into gaseous form (hydrogen, methane, etc.) and placed in the top for competitors.

Danni Gao joined the School of Chemical Engineering in Fall 2009. She holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Tsingua University. She is advised by Professor Arvind Varma and her research is in the alternative energy field, in the catalytic upgrading of bio-oils area.
