Biography

Abigail S. Engelberth is an Assistant Professor in Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Purdue University. She earned her B.S. and M.E. in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University and her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arkansas. She was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Maine prior to joining the ABE faculty.

Dr. Engelberth’s research is focused on the recovery of valuable co-products from biological sources, either pre- or post-processing. Along with product recovery, Dr. Engelberth explores the design of the recovery process in order to obtain an economic analysis of the process to determine the value of the co-product. There are opportunities for graduate and advanced studies in her research group.
