Professor D. Marshall Porterfield tapped by NASA
Professor Marshall Porterfield has been chosen as the new Division Director of NASA's Space Life and Physical Sciences Research and Applications Division.
Dr. Porterfield will be based at NASA headquarters in Washington, DC, and will oversee and manage Fundamental Space Biology, Physical Sciences, and all Human Research within NASA while providing oversight to the International Space Station National Lab. He will be a lead inter-agency contact between NASA and the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, and the US Department of Agriculture. Dr. Porterfield anticipates a 2-3 year appointment, necessitating a leave-of-absence from Purdue. We wish him well!
