OGSPS Fellowships Office - NSF GRFP Workshop Series

Open to first-year graduate students!

The OGSPS Fellowships Office is offering a three-part workshop series with additional help sessions to support students in crafting a strong application for the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) ahead of the anticipated October 2026 deadline. Based on last year’s eligibility criteria, graduate students are only eligible to apply in their first year of graduate study, so this information is particularly important to register with incoming first-year students.

  • Part 1: Overview (Aug 26, Sep 1) – Learn about eligibility, benefits, review criteria, and application strategy
  • Part 2: Personal Statement (August 31, Sep 9) – Tips for telling your story, clarifying your goals, and addressing broader impacts
  • Part 3: Research Statement (Sep 4, Sep 15) – How to write a clear, compelling research plan
  • Help Sessions (offered weekly) – Get feedback on your drafts and answers to your questions from current GRFP Fellows
