Bloomberg Data Science Ph.D. Fellowship
After a two-year gap in being offered, the Bloomberg Data Science Ph.D. Fellowship has re-opened with an application deadline of September 25, 2026.
The fellowship supports doctoral students conducting research in data science and related areas. Fellows receive financial support as well as opportunities for mentorship, career counseling, and research experience with Bloomberg.
Eligibility:
- U.S. and international students are eligible
- Full-time doctoral students during 2027-2028 academic year, and remain enrolled full-time for the duration of the fellowship
- Expected to graduate in or before the end of 2030
- Conducting research in an aligned field

*Important note for international students: The fellowship includes a required summer internship, which may conflict with updated restrictions on CPT. We contacted Bloomberg about this, and they indicated that international students should continue to apply and that they were opening to exploring available options closer to the internship date.
Fellowship Benefits:
- 100% tuition coverage
- $45,000 stipend for living expenses, professional conferences, and/or research expenses
- Mentorship from Bloomberg researchers
- A 14-week paid research internship with Bloomberg for each year of the fellowship
- Opportunity to renew the fellowship annually for up to three years, at Bloomberg’s discretion
